Ian teaches this weeks' English lesson. Ian is a friend of mine who also lives in the city of Ottawa, Canada. His occupation is a computer software engineer.

In his spare time Ian is learning how to speak and write Chinese! He also enjoys traveling and has been all over the world. He has a very clear voice, so I think you will enjoy his lesson.

In this lesson you will hear Ian dictate several phrases about the importance of rice in Chinese culture. You will be asked the meaning of some of the words contained in these passages. Good luck!

Have you ever had a secret love for someone? Perhaps a co-worker, or a classmate, or even someone who is married to someone else!

In this English lesson you will hear several dialogs of people confessing their secret love, directly to the person for whom they have this secret love! The dialog is very dramatic and full of some great vocabulary for you to study.

It is a difficult time for a father when his daughter goes out on her first date. In order ensure the boy, who is taking out his daughter, behaves correctly a father often gives the boy a pre-date speech. These speeches can be very stern!

In this lesson, you will hear several father to daughter's boyfriends pre-date speeches. You will learn about some of the meanings for the words "sharp" and "carefully". I also included some spelling questions in this english lesson.
